Dana Lehrer-Danze Teapot Workshop

Dana is a ceramic artist in Northern Virginia who maintains her studio in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria. She engineers teapots using what could be usual forms to compose her interesting teapots adding the spouts and tall handles help to form her unique shapes. She marries the surface decorations with each form using negative and positive patterns contrasting her red brown raw clay with silhouette of each form.
Dana has a BS in Visual Art and has been making pottery for over 20 years.
- SATURDAY-will be a demonstration day where she will show the shapes that she makes to combine and alter to form her teapots. She will also show how she makes the tall handles which make a statement when added to her forms.
- Sunday Dana will demonstrate her glazing techniques and then you will have a chance to try it on a piece.
